Detail Technician

Position Overview

The detailer is responsible for assisting production employees with their work, assisting with maintenance of production area, and for final clean-up of vehicles prior to delivery

Accountability

The Detailer reports to the Production Manager

Essential Job Functions

  • Prepare repaired vehicles for delivery
  • Thoroughly clean repaired vehicles inside and out. Install any trim or cosmetic items as needed
  • Address paint imperfections under supervision of Painter (buffing, denibbing, wet sanding, runs, etc.…)
  • Complete vehicle QC forms and communicate any issues to the Production Manager, Body Tech and/or Estimator (warning lights, paint issues, fit issues, etc.…)
  • Update the WIP board as necessary

Additional Job Functions

  • Assist in the smooth flow of work through the shop
  • Maintain work area in clean and safe condition
  • Keep Production Manager aware of work status
  • Alert the Painter and/or Production Manager to any unusual problems or additional work needed on a vehicle
  • Help port vehicles to and from sublet vendors
  • Help keep the production areas clean and free of clutter
  • Detailer will assist production employees whenever possible

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license
  • 6+ months of experience
  • Proper certifications or ability to obtain certifications
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
